La absurdicia de la maldita finitud

history.txt

I have decided to collect all my previous blogs together. I do this partly as backup, partly as some kind of “self-archeology” project, since I’ve found the most interesting part of having a blog is finding your own posts long after you’ve forgotten them and savour the old conversations again.

So here they go! The first one I ever had was called “Mein Endlicher Reich”, and had as a tagline the following “quotation”:

Desde las almenas de mi torre contemplaba las tierras bajo mi dominio. Me sentí poderoso durante un momento, pero un jinete acercándose desde el horizonte me recordó que, aunque no podía ver los límites de mi reino, éste era finito.

The theme of finitness somehow stuck on me. When I decided to close it, I briefly experimented with something called /tmp/buffer, described as

A scrap code buffer for avoiding /dev/null overuse.

But the call of my own finitness urged me to start writing another blog, “Maldita finitud”. I don’t recall whether it ever had a tagline or not, as it changed to a “Este blog está siendo desmantelado” message when I decided to stop writing it (partly due to some conflict going on at the time with some people). Sometime after, I found nanoblogger and started a small blog, /dev/misc, mostly to post interesting quotations I was finding at the time. It never really closed, but with 13 posts in two years it did never really get much traffic. I also had a LiveJournal which got some dream reports. Two other blogs started as excuses to play with two blog engines, tumblr and mapache. But the import and export features of the current engine are what gave me the final impulse to put everything together and maybe… (but only maybe)… continue blogging.
